Many devout individuals, such as Daniel and Joseph, faced challenges and sacrifices on their way to achieving their goals. They remained faithful and persevered through difficulties before being given their roles. To reach similar positions, one must also seek God’s mercy to overcome obstacles and adversaries who stand in the way of righteousness.”
1Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppressed me. 2Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that 5Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil. 6They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul”(Psalms 56:1-2, 5-6).
These enemies of righteousness monitor righteous people in order to use their words to put them into troubles. They place the righteous under surveillance in order to find faults. They did it to Daniel and so many others in the bible.
“4Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. 5Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him 13Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regarded not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day. 14Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he labored until the going down of the sun to deliver him. 15Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, that neither decree nor statute, which the king established, may be changed. 16Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spoke and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou Servest continually, he will deliver thee”(Daniel 6:4-5, 13-16).

A godly person who wishes to work with unbelievers, proud and violent men; must be ready to carry his cross. This is because they will rise against you no matter how best you perform in your interview, job or career. They recompense evil for good and speak evil against in place of truth. The ungodly people in the days Jesus held counsels together against Him. They sought for many ways to destroy Him.
“And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat”(Luke 22:31).
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”(Ephesians 6:12).
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walked about, seeking whom he may devour”(1 Peter 5:8).
Jesus told Peter that Satan had desired to have him sifted as wheat. There are forces that are fighting to put many good people out of office. These powers are more spiritual than physical. If you do not know how to fight spiritual warfare, they will put you out of your career/job through evil means no matter how best you performed.
People with bad intentions kept an eye on Daniel because they wanted to prevent him from achieving success in his interviews. If Daniel had not been aware of the spiritual battle taking place in the world, he would not have been able to fulfill his destiny. The devil, who is the ruler of this world, is constantly trying to gain power and control by placing his followers in positions of authority. This means that every believer must be prepared to fight for their place in the world. If you do not take action, others will take advantage of you and make you work for their benefit. God’s children are meant to be in positions of power and influence, but this is not always the case. This is how Daniel was eventually defeated and thrown into a prison with hungry lions.
“Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spoke and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee. And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel”(Daniel 6:16-17).
Many godly and greatly destined people today have no jobs. Government policies all over the world have chased many devout Christians out of jobs and imprisoned others spiritually. So it was for Shedrack, Meshack and Abednego in Zion but in Babylon, they faced a satanic policy that removed them from the throne to the dungeon of death, a burning fiery furnace.
As long as you are in this world, you are bound to face people like Nebuchadnezzar. When you lift the banner of Jesus, the king of kings, descendants of Nebuchadnezzar that are committed to the god of this world would be furious, energized by the spirit of this age to attack you. You have to be prayerful in order to deal with these areas to get the job that would lead you into divine rest on earth.
