Benefits of Salvation

There are many tremendous benefits to salvation. When Jesus saves a sinner, that same sinner obtains complete deliverance from God. He is no longer a slave to sin or the ramifications of his sinful past. The salvation that Jesus gives you means that you are no longer under the powers of your enemies: slavery, physical pain, suffering, infirmities, and death. If you have not received salvation, then you have nothing.

Similarly, if you have fallen from faith, you need to return to God. It is dangerous to backslide because it is capable of taking you back to satanic bondage, sorrow, affliction, and attacks of all manner of sickness. The surest way for sinners and backsliders to come home is through genuine repentance of sin and confessing that Jesus is Lord.

The best illustration of this is the story of the prodigal son. It was not until he realized how deeply he had fallen and how wretched he had become that he desired to return to his father’s house, where, at least, he could eat a decent meal. You too can return to God, no matter how far you have wandered away.

“And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him”

Luke 15:17-20

When the prodigal son remembered the love and care of his father, he arose and returned home to the enduring love of his caring father. You need the joy and fellowship of Christ to flourish in your life. If the Holy Spirit is convicting you through these words, cry out to God for His mercy, forgiveness, and grace to live right again. In addition, determine to return home today. It is better at home than in that wilderness.

Therefore, you must make practical decisions against sin, wherever it exists in your life. I encourage you to do away with cheap and false commendations of men and seek true fellowship with God through fervent prayers instead. Take advantage of the salvation that Jesus brings to you today!
