Consecration for Service

Consecration means to devote to solemnity or dedication. It is the state of yielding yourself, unreservedly unto God for His holy use. God desires that you offer yourself to him in your entirety. Unfortunately, many Christians do not bother about consecration except when they desire a particular blessing from God.

Christians are at their best when they truly consecrate their lives to God in order to keep receiving blessings from Him. For you to live daily in victory and keep experiencing the constant flow of God’s power to overcome sin, live daily in victory, and prosper in every aspect of your life, you need to be consecrated to God at all times.

It is God’s will throughout our lives to completely, wholeheartedly give our lives over to Him. Our consecration should be constant at all times and not given only when we need a particular blessing from the Lord.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 12:1-2

God cannot be mocked. Praying and seeking God’s power and the manifestation of His gifts is good, but there is a price to pay to remain with God after getting the power. Many people spend time praying for empowerment, but they soon backslide thereafter. The command from Christ is to take your cross and follow him.

Every anointing and position has a cross attached to it. You cannot get power or position in Christ without having to bear the cross for Christ’s anointing! You cannot serve two masters at the same time. As a result, you have to deny yourself certain things, take up your cross, and follow Him. Therefore, as you go from place to place, mountain to mountain, praying for anointing, all your promises to God, vows, and consecration are recorded, and they are attached to the anointing you receive.

However, do not be deceived; your consecration will be put to the test in times of lack, prosperity, and difficulties. Many graceless women who are even worse than Delilah and the wife of Potiphar will come your way. They have the money to buy you whatever you need and meet every need of yours, and this is a test many have passed through and failed.

To fulfill your ministry, you must genuinely and wholeheartedly surrender your plans and purposes to God, so that God does not declare your seat vacant while you are still alive and ministering. Every form of carnality needs to be destroyed; the flesh must be crucified. You must glorify God in your body and spirit. Do not allow difficulties, pressures, and varied problems to push you away from the call to modify or remodel the true gospel.
