The Power of the Name of Jesus Christ

The forces of evil tremble in fear during prayer when the name of Christ is mentioned. A man was born with a physical disability and was brought to the temple gates daily to beg. He was greatly limited by the devil, but was lucky enough to encounter Peter and John who had something more valuable than money. The moment the name of Christ was spoken, the man’s 40-year-long lameness was instantly healed. Praise be to God for the power of the name of Jesus Christ.

The power of the name of Jesus Christ is unmatched and surpasses any wealth. When you grasp this, you’ll see that the name of Jesus is more valuable than silver or gold. It was through this name that a lame man was healed and able to walk for the first time in years. He went straight to the temple to worship and see God and His Son. Before this healing, he couldn’t enter the temple because of his disability, but through Jesus’ intervention, he was delivered and able to walk in. With the name of Jesus, you can overcome any obstacle, including walking yourself out of a hospital bed or freeing yourself from the devil’s hold on your health.

“And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all”

(Acts 3:16).

“Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole”

(Acts 4:10).

“Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation”

(Psalms 91:14-16).

If you know how to mention the name of Christ in faith, you can command sickness, diseases and infirmities out of your life. You can walk your family, business into the international community and every good place on earth. You can command cancer, ulcer, poverty, failures and all manner of sickness and diseases and they will obey. The name of Christ can heal, save, sanctify, deliver, baptize and take you to heaven to enjoy your eternity with God and all His saints.

However, there are categories of people that do not experience the power in the name of Jesus. They include people who love God, but do not know how to call upon His name. God wants to heal them and deliver them from sicknesses and troubles but they feel too big to call upon the name of Jesus Christ. There are people who use the name of Jesus but do not have faith in Him. Therefore, they do not experience the power in the name of Jesus. There are also people who use the name of Jesus while they live in sin. You cannot live in sin for grace to abound.

“And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver”

(Acts 19:15-19).

It is very painful to die in sickness or remain in trouble while the name of Jesus is waiting for you to invoke it to bring healing and deliverance. God promised to answer those that call upon Him, and to be with them until all their enemies come under their feet. He also promised us long life. Therefore, do not allow sickness and disease to cut your life short. You need His salvation.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son”

(John 14:12-13).
