The Power to Serve God

Looking at Jesus’ life, we can see that he wants us to serve our fellow man. His power is the power to serve others. The disciples of Jesus Christ were once afraid, but then they went to the upper room for prayers, and there they were baptized in the Holy Ghost, and they received the power to serve.

Before Pentecost, they were powerless, fearful, and intimidated. But when they received the power, they became bold and fearless. Their prayers raised the dead, healed crippled ones, opened prison doors, scattered heathen shrines and satanic temples, terminated occult groups, and healed many people who were sick. They received power to work for God.

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

There is nothing that prayer cannot do once you pray in faith and righteousness, without any doubt, unbelief, or fear. Prayer can turn away God’s anger and bring mercy and divine love. Like Hezekiah, prayer can extend the years of those who pray. Prayer can scatter conspirators and grant victory to God’s children. It can announce your name in the sky and take a righteous, faithful slave to the throne of the heathens. It can equally remove shame and reproach and turn captivity around.

Prayer can remove your fear and replace it with victory. It can stop the mouths of lions for your sake. It can elevate you above your equals. There is absolutely nothing that prayer cannot do. I challenge you to tell me any good thing that prayer cannot achieve. By serving others, you make Jesus known. However, this can be overwhelming sometimes, and this is the time you need God to strengthen you. God gives you the power to serve, and when you do, you will not lose your reward.
