It is important to pray every prayer with faith based on the word of God. In order to do this, we should follow the principle of faith and ask for specific things, much like how Blind Bartimaeus approached his prayers.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear”
(Hebrews 11:1, 3).
“And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. And Jesus answered and said unto him, what wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way”
(Mark 10:46-52).

In order to express our faith in God, it is important to confess it without doubting, as stated in James 1:5-8. Meditating on and finding joy in God’s law as described in Psalms 1:2 is also essential. Avoiding negative speech is important because our words have the power to either justify or condemn us, as mentioned in Matthew 12:34-37.
Taking immediate action based on God’s word is also crucial. Faith cannot be left alone without corresponding actions, as it will ultimately die. Our faith must be practical, and we should follow through with obedience. The devil also acknowledges God’s existence and word, but does not obey God. Therefore, we must not only believe in God but also put our faith into practice through obedience, as stated in John 2:17-25.
As followers of Christ, it is important to maintain our confession of faith until the end, as this is a key principle for effective prayer. We must believe and declare our faith continuously, regardless of the circumstances we face, as stated in Matthew 14:25-31. Our confidence in God’s promises should not be swayed because, according to His word, there is a great reward for doing so.
Patience is also necessary for our prayers to be effective. We must remain steadfast in our faith and trust in God’s timing, even when it seems like our prayers are not being answered immediately. This requires a level of endurance and perseverance, but the reward of a fruitful prayer life makes it all worthwhile.
“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draws back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering”
(Hebrews 10:35-39, 23).
