A curse plays a significant role in preventing people from enjoying the covenant of healing and blessing. Nonetheless, a curse without a cause shall not stand. What then is a “curse”? A curse is the direct opposite of a blessing. It is an evil utterance that is said over a person in order to cause harm or destruction. What role does the curse play in keeping Christians from entering into the covenant of healing?
Cursed people are constantly subjected to limitations and satanic attacks. They suffer premature death, hatred, and rejection. Some of them suffer from infertility, barrenness, prolonged pregnancies, or miscarriage. In some cases, medical science would fail to explain the causes of their barrenness, advanced miscarriage, and prolonged pregnancies. The devil knows how to abort or thwart the efforts of a cursed person. Some things that happen to a cursed person would defy any natural explanation, and life’s efforts amount to nothing useful when curses prevail in a person’s life.

If the man had ignored Jesus and went back to sin, the devil would have put him in a worse condition. When Saul, the first king of Israel, sinned against God, the Spirit of God departed from him, and an evil spirit entered into him and tormented him.
“But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. And Saul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee”

Another thing that empowers the devil to attack some people is their failure to resist the devil. You cannot fail to resist the devil and at the same time enjoy the covenant of healing. When Adam ate the forbidden fruit, he ran away from God instead of repenting. God laid a curse on him and drove him out of the garden. Similarly, when Cain killed his brother, God cursed him, and he became a vagabond and fugitive on the earth. When Ham looked at his father’s nakedness, he cursed him to remain a servant to his brothers.
Sin brings a curse, and if you do not cease from sinning, the worst things could still come upon you. You should understand at this point that it is not the will of God that a curse prevails in anyone’s life. God’s will is for all men to come to His salvation and blessing, which He has made possible through Jesus Christ. However, most people have chosen to remain in spiritual darkness, where the devil has continued to torment them. Such people remain at high risk because everything they do fails to yield good results.
If you have not received salvation, then you have nothing. It is capable of taking you back to satanic bondage, sorrow, affliction, and attacks of all manner of sickness. You must make practical decisions against sin, wherever it exists in your life, and guard your salvation fervently with fear and trembling. You must persevere to the end and never allow the threat of the devil in the form of infertility to sweep away your faith in Christ Jesus.
