Elijah was the only prophet of his generation who successfully opposed and defeated Ahab. He boldly opposed the government of Ahab with the words and prophecies of God. He survived the destructive famine in Israel, and God used his ministry to sustain a widow and her son. Again, Elijah boldly appeared before his greatest enemy, who was looking for him everywhere to destroy his life.
He was the only prophet in his generation and other generations who refused to die. Elijah was carried to heaven by a chariot of fire and horses of fire, and he was carried up by a whirlwind. As he walked away, he handed his mantle to Elisha, who took it with him.

John the Baptist was not supposed to die. He had the same spirit as Elijah, which is the spirit of fire. He started very well, but to me, he did not end well. John challenged Herod and his wife, who both had the spirit of Ahab and Jezebel. But he did not stand up to Herod and his family’s attacks as Elijah did to Ahab and Jezebel’s.
While Elijah overcame the witchcraft of Ahab and Jezebel, John the Baptist however, was a victim of the yoke of the jaw. If you don’t say what you are supposed to say, you may die before your time. It is possible that you may die while your parents are still alive. Similarly, you may allow the occult people in your family to use your head as a birthday gift, but I encourage you today: do not give your jaws to the yoke of the jaw. Do not die before your time.
Are you Elijah or John the Baptist? How is your prayer life? Can your prayer touch Ahab, Jezebel, and their prophets? Do your prayers pity Ahab, Jezebel, and the family of Herod? How are your prayers? Are they balanced or extreme? If you don’t know how to pray against your Herod, his wife, and their daughters, pray that you will not die before them. Don’t die when you are supposed to be alive.

- Any yoke that is separating me from God’s grace, break, in the name of Jesus.
- Every yoke of the enemy upon my life, break immediately, in the name of Jesus.
- Every yoke of death upon my life, break, in the name of Jesus.
- Every yoke of bewitchment upon my life, be broken by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- Let the yoke of jaws assigned to prevail over me die, in the name of Jesus.
- Let the witchcraft powers against my destiny be buried alive, in the name of Jesus.
