“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
When God anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, the mercy of God accompanied the anointing. The result was that he went about doing good. His ministry of mercy was healing all that were possessed of the devil.
Mercy means being compassionate and showing kindness and love. Mercy overshadows weakness, it is often unconditional that is, to say it is not based on a person’s actions or deservingness. In the Bible, mercy can be said to be the foundational attribute of our Lord Jesus Christ because the cry of mercy is the loudest in His ears.
Everyone needs the mercy of God that is, both the believers, unbelievers, the weak, the needy, the oppressed, the desolate can also ask for mercy, and so on. God’s mercy is inexhaustible and powerful to display any other power in place.
“And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, according to your faith be it unto you.” Matthew. 9:27-29
