Prayer can be said to be an effective weapon for every Christian. Luke 18:1 says And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint, this verse of the Bible is an indication that we must be found praying anywhere, at all-time to the extent it becomes part of us.
Prayer is the act of fellowshipping, communicating and maintaining a life-line with God. Prayer is like a shield we use to fight the battles of life. Through prayers we are equipped to fight the battles of life.
Then power is the ability to influence or control something or a situation. Power can be used to dominate and regulate.
As Christians when we know the power in prayer we will begin to put more effort in prayers. Through effective and fervent prayers deliverance take place just like in Acts 12:1- 13. It was through prayers that Peter was set free from the prison where Herod held him captive.
Here are some of the things prayer can do;
- Prayer can move mountains: effective prayers can remove anything that stand like a mountain. Matthew 17: 21
- Prayer gives you directions: We receive direction in the place of prayer and for every confusing situations we receive clarity. Just like when the disciples were praying and the Holy Spirit said separate me Paul and Barnabas in Acts 13:2-3.
- Prayer is an effective weapon: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12
- Prayer is our weapon of war against principalities and powers and rulers of darkness of this world.
- Prayer connects us to God: Since prayer is a means of fellowshipping and communion with God, prayer draws us closer to God whereby He reveals things to us.
Through prayers we are strengthened and sustained.
As Christians we need to come to the realization of the power in prayer.
If you are asking when should you pray? Luke 18:1 tells us that we are to pray always anytime and anywhere. Our Lord and savior Jesus has made it easy for us to come boldly to the father any time and where. Take advantage of this liberty and make prayer your lifestyle so that you will enjoy and see the power of consistent and fervent prayer.
