A great struggle lies before every man or woman on earth. When God created the universe, He looked at the universe and attested that the universe He made was good. The world is still good today. However, the problem is that Satan has filled the world God created with all manner of evil. He has filled the world with his yoke and burdens. Sadly so many believers have becomes preys to the devil’s ploys. Evil forces are fighting to make sure that people are limited in their capacities to stop them from achieving God’s purpose for their lives on earth.
Evil Yokes
Evil yokes come in different forms and they can affect various categories of people. For instance, many rich people have useless and wayward children. They have everything good around them, yet they cannot get a good night’s sleep. Others think excessively and turn around many times in their beds at night. They cannot sleep and have peace of mind. Hence the saying, “The rich also cry.” Many people are running up and down searching for solutions to their problems, while the conditions get worse. Why is it so?

The Wages of Sin
Yoke of sin brings people under curse. When someone is under a curse, he cannot have sound sleep, peace of mind or rest. It was the thought of Hagar’s disobedience and her presence that gave Sarah many sleepless nights. Likewise, Pharaoh made the lives of children of Israel unbearable. They passed through years of restlessness and suffering. When you remain under the yoke of sin, God cannot fight your battles or deliver you from crisis. God may plan to deliver you but when He beholds iniquity in your life, He turns away His face. God has never been able to withstand sin, not even when Jesus died! Every sin you commit has a cord that links you to a particular problem. These problems ensure that you do not have sound sleep and rest at nights.
Peace, rest, joy and sound sleep without freedom from sin is deceitful and temporal. You cannot disobey God, commit murder, go to bed to enjoy sound sleep and rest. You cannot defraud people or commit immorality and hope to have peace of mind.
No one can serve God and Satan at the same time. Do you really desire for sound sleep and peaceful rest? Then repent of all your sins and avoid them forever. You cannot entangle yourself with the affairs of this life and yet be a good soldier of Christ. If you want peace and sound sleep, you have to please God. You have to hate sin, turn away from them, and have a change of mind, purpose and action.
