Obeying God’s Command and Counsel: The Key to Deliverance

No one has been punished, suffered till death, or been sent to hell because he committed sin. No, not even one. People suffer to death and go to hell because they refuse to come to God through repentance and forsaking their sins. The primary purpose of God’s commandment is to return us to God in repentance. No matter how sinful, wicked, and bad you are or have been, you can still return to God and obey His commandments.

However, if you chose to remain in your sinful ways, then you cannot expect God to dishonor His word and come to your aid, no matter how much you pray or how much pastors pray for you. Do not be deceived. There’s an open invitation to fellowship with God your Father, enjoying His love, blessing, guidance, and protection. God is saying to you repeatedly:

‘If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land’

2 Chronicles 7:14

No matter how big your problems are, God knows that. That is why He planned ahead of time for all possible solutions. The solution mostly lies in our humility to follow God’s counsel: keep His command, seek His face at all times, and turn away from our wickedness.

You may argue that God has delivered people in your deliverance ministry without their obedience to His commandments. This may sound true because God can even heal sinners or deliver the wicked in order to give them a chance to repent. Some ministers have entered into a covenant with the devil in their quest to solve problems.

Unfortunately, they are succeeding in postponing, transferring, or suspending such problems. They do not really cast out demons. Instead, they only have the demonic anointing of transferring problems from the head to the leg. Outside of God’s wisdom, you can never be wiser than Satan. I am very sorry to reveal that many deliverance ministers and their ministries are in covenant with Satan.

The devil is ready to collaborate with you to gather multitudes and give you anything on earth at his disposal if he is sure you will not tell people the truth or glorify God. Others can do anything humanly possible to gather immeasurable material wealth: drive big cars, bewitch people to sow massive seeds, and reduce people serving under them to perpetual slaves. These instances do not show that you have overcome. Those who truly overcome sin, Satan, the world, and flesh can live to serve God with or without material benefits and in any circumstance.

‘For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?’

1 John 5:4-5

Believers who overcome have great testimonies of faith and a consistent Christian life, abiding in Christ always. These believers are not in any covenant with the wicked one. Though they are in the world, they are not under the influence of the prince of this world; instead, they overcome the world. They keep their faith, fight the good fight of faith, press forward for the mark of the high calling, and earnestly contend to the end under any situation and circumstance. Thus, if you desire real deliverance, you need to obey God’s command and counsel.
