Serving in God’s Vineyard

A born-again experience is the best thing that could happen to any Christian while on earth. And when you are born again, God expects that you use everything you have to promote his kingdom here on earth. As a believer, your position, time, money, talents, gifts, and energy must be used to please God.

David was a man who had a wonderful combination of personal bravery, courage, boldness, and skill that led Israel to subdue all her enemies. The secret of his victories stemmed from the fact that he always regarded and fought Israel’s enemies as God’s enemies and dedicated his spoils of war unto the Lord.

‘Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek’

1 Chronicles 18:11

Recall that David was not well known at first. Before all this, he had spent years toiling and wandering in the lonely hills. He looked after his flocks, and the perils and deliverances he received from God, as well as the grief and joy of his lowly position, prepared him for God’s work and defense of the truth.

Despite the height he eventually attained, David had a humble spirit and was always conscious of his lowly family background, place of birth, occupation, and service in the king’s court. Even as a servant to Saul and a friend to Jonathan, he was very loyal and devoted. His reign was purely free from idolatry, and he was loyal to God in his testimony and worship.

Therefore, as a worker in God’s vineyard, you must be content with what you have and believe God for His real plans for your life to manifest instead of looking for fake powers and fame that will certainly thwart your relationship with God and cut short your ministry. At all times and in all places, you must defend the truth, which is the gospel of Jesus Christ and His righteousness. If you are already promoted, you must remain humble, faithful, and you must not allow the flattery of people and pride to rob you of your place in heaven.

Again, in this time and age of perverse and diverse ideas, God always finds people to choose and call to his service. Will you be among these ones? Do you really want to serve him? The end is near! Already, so many vile things have begun to manifest. If the horror fails to materialize fully in your time, what about your children?

You may be old now or maybe young, an ordinary member of your church, a civil servant, poor or rich, illiterate or educated. However, your age and status do not matter when God is calling you to preach the truth of the Gospel to the world. What really matters is how little time you have here on earth and this is why you need to be consistent, remaining on the right path and disregarding anything that might shift your focus.
