Winning the Battle Against Fear

Fear is an unpleasant feeling of apprehension or anxiety caused by the presence or anticipation of danger. Fear is a spiritual condition that is capable of overwhelming the physical. Only a strong man can arrest a person; his rest, peace, and sound sleep.

Fear is one of the tools the devil uses to control you and keep you out of God’s plans. Believers must not allow fear to prosper in their lives. Fear and doubt are closely related, and you must not allow them to rule over your days or nights. When a person allows fear to rule over his day or night, that person is in trouble. You are a winner in life when you conquer fear.

The scriptures have repeatedly encouraged us not to be afraid, and it is a shame for a Christian to fail because of fear.

10Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 14Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. 5Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west”

Isaiah 41:10, 14; 43:5

It happens that when you are not sure of God and do not have a good relationship with Him, the devil can easily put fear in your heart. When you are not aware of God’s strength, the devil will show you his strength easily to cause you to fear. When you are not sure of God’s help, you fear the devil when he appears to help you. Likewise, when you are not sure of your salvation, God’s righteousness, and his infinite mercies, you will definitely be afraid when the devil roars like a lion. Believers, who know their God, cannot fear the devil.

Again, if you observe all things through your physical eyes only, you will be afraid of the devil and his agents. No matter how weak you are, when you are born again, God’s strength will be your strength. God will remain your helper and redeemer because He is the Holy One of Israel. The devil may come to scare you in the night, but fear him not. God was and is still with you and will be with you forever as long as you abide in Him. True Christians have nothing to fear.

Decide to be a winner and reject sin and compromise. Fear can destroy someone’s nights, days, weeks, months, and years. It is a sin to be on the side of God and be afraid of the devil at the same time. It hurts God and makes him unhappy. God expects His children to be courageous all the time.
