Breaking Free From the Devil’s Yoke

When God created the universe, He looked at it and attested that the universe He made was good. The world is still good today. However, the problem is that Satan has filled the world God created with all manner of evil. He has filled the world with his yoke and burdens.

In fact, the devil’s presence on earth turned the whole world into a battleground. A great struggle lies before every man or woman on earth. It is clear from the look of things that there is war going on between God’s children and Satan’s agents. The Bible affirmed this truth. This is also what Paul saw and experienced, and that is why he likened the believer’s life on earth to wrestling, warfare, and fighting.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”

Ephesians 6:12

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ”

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

Many Christians are already under the yoke of the devil, and it is sad that believers who possess the power of Christ can become captives of Satan. Evil forces are fighting to make sure that people are limited in their capacities to stop them from achieving God’s purpose for their lives on earth. Therefore, you ought to strive in order to overcome evil forces, and to do this, you must be temperate in all things.

There is always a price to pay and a crown to receive in the end. These evil powers are invisible, spiritual, and, at times, they manifest physically using human agents. These human agents are not the targets of our prayers. The target of our prayers are the evil spirits that possess these evil agents. Through our prayers, we cast down their imaginations and force them to submit to Christ.

God’s thought towards you is to disable the devil, break his yokes upon you, and set you free. However, you must understand what yokes really are. The evil yoke comes in different ways. Some come in the form of troubles, sickness, unseen enemies, chronic diseases, mysterious losses of money, collapsing businesses, the sudden disappearance of good things in life, etc.

When someone has been afflicted with the devil’s yoke, they cannot think well. When you go to bed at night, you cannot sleep. If you sleep at all, you will be distracted by useless dreams. You will always be sick, feeling deep heat inside your body, even when you appear very healthy on the outside. On examination, you will be seen as perfectly okay.

People who have good plans for what to do when they get money are also under the devil's yoke. However, as soon as the money comes, unseen forces influence them to squander the money. Before they can realize they had plans, they would have already spent all the money. This is the devil’s yoke. Such people cannot enjoy sound sleep and rest.

Deliverance

Fortunately, God has promised to break this satanic yoke, and for Him to do this, you must get rid of anything that might cause a hindrance, such as sin. You need to know that God may plan to deliver you, but when He beholds iniquity in your life, He turns away His face. No matter how much you suffer or weep and pray for so many nights, if there are iniquities in your life, your sufferings will only increase.

Iniquity empowers the devil to take you away from where God has originally placed you, and God cannot do anything about it. Peace, rest, joy, and sound sleep without freedom from sin are deceitful and temporal. You cannot disobey God, commit murder, or go to bed to enjoy sound sleep and rest. You cannot defraud people or commit immorality and hope to have peace of mind or sound sleep. You must repent today.
