Defeating the Power of Death

The sentence “Knowledge is Power” has indeed stood the test of time. Not knowing who you are and where you stand can be one of the most unsettling situations to be in. This might be your case when you do not understand the power of God’s establishment in your life.

God is the creator of all things in heaven and on earth. He created life, and he is the source of all spiritual and physical things. Therefore, the devil has no right to claim anything as his in the universe that God made. God owns the entire earth, including all of its inhabitants.

“Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD’S thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is”

Deuteronomy 10:14

In the beginning, there was nothing like sickness, pain, poverty, suffering, or lack. God created all that man needed to live happily forever without suffering or pain. There was no need for healing or deliverance. These things came into existence immediately after Adam and Eve sinned, disobeying God’s commandments and thereby surrendering their lives and leadership position to the devil.

As a result, they were separated from God because of their sin of disobedience, and the consequence of their fall was disaster. Premature death originated here. All men by birth inherit a sinful nature and need to repent of sin to live long enough to fulfill their destiny on earth. Unless you return to God, you remain spiritually dead, separated from God, and will never fulfill your purpose on earth or spend eternity with God after death. Fortunately, Jesus Christ came for this purpose.

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost”

Luke 19: 10

You needed to be redeemed and the only way was through a worthy sacrifice, Jesus Christ. When redemption takes place, it is as though you have never committed a sin in your life. You become righteous and free of the consequences of your sins, no longer under the condemnation of sin and death.

In addition, as a saved person, you are no longer under the bondage of the devil. You owe your life to Christ, and now you ought to live for him in order to please him.

Unless you give God complete control over your time, money, and talent, the devil will continue to try to wrestle control of them in your life, seeking to destroy your destiny and shorten your life.

The only way you can truly lose yourself from the grip of the devil is to repent of all your sins and accept Christ as your Lord and Savior. Ask Him to forgive you and give you the strength to stop sinning.
