This is the reply you often get when you ask someone the question, “What is your biggest fear in life?” Everybody wants to succeed in whatever they are doing. I have not seen anyone who dislikes the idea of being successful. In fact, men seek after success. Being successful is one of the greatest needs of man, and it so happens that different people have a varied understanding of the meaning of success. Nevertheless, I would like to categorize success into two: there is godly success and then there is worldly success. The main difference between the two is that godly success lasts forever, while worldly success is only for a short time.
The pursuit of success has made many lose sight of what success truly means. Some have gone far and wide seeking something that is right before them. You forget that wealth and riches are from God and are entrusted to your hands so that all humanity can benefit from them. If you do not have this mind, God may not entrust truly rich hands to you.

A rich man’s success is not measured by how much money he has in the bank but how much of his money is invested in others. To be remarkably successful, other people must succeed through you. You must help them find God. Unless more people come to maturity and have a testimony of a good relationship with God, you should not count yourself a successful person.
Abraham’s success was based on his ability to communicate God’s word to his children and his household. Your wealth includes your children and all the people under your care. No matter how much money you make or how much reputation you get, when you fail to help your children and people under your care grow in the right direction, you are a failure.
David was very meek. He was a man after God’s own heart, and God made sure he lacked nothing. He did not seek his own welfare or build empires for himself. He sought for the welfare of God’s people and was determined to satisfy both the weak and strong. We also see how he dedicated the spoils of war to God.

He used God’s gift to him to glorify God and died at a good old age, full of days, in riches and honor. That is the will of God for all his children. This is what success truly means.
