Most people in our colleges and universities are youths who have ideas, goals, needs and desires that motivate them to pursue their futures with vigor. As has been the case, they aim at living a life of ideals and often they shun advices from elders concerning true realities of life. As a result of this, they can often fall into problems and this is why when they are at school, it is your responsibility to pray for them.
A good parent cannot ignore this responsibility if they wish their children to prosper in their academics and become useful to themselves and others. If you want your children to experience peace and happiness, worship God frequently for their sake.
Any parent trusting God for a child must be ready to obey God’s commandments concerning child training. No one should pray for or desire a child whom he would not raise in the way of God. But first, you have to be born again in order for God to hear your prayers. Your main responsibility is not only to give birth or feed your children natural foods. Rather, it is to also show them the way back to God. You have to bring them up and admonish them in the way of the Lord. It is a sin to bring a child into this world without guiding that child to God, the source of all things.

When God gave Abraham a child at his old age, he first proved that Abraham was someone who would train his household in the ways of the Lord. You must inculcate the Word of God in the hearts, souls, and memories, and establish them in the ways of the Lord. When you train them on time, they will not depart from what they learned when they grow up, but in the absence of the Word of God, foolish actions and decisions will continue to rule and reign in the hearts of your children.
“6Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. 15Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. 17Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge”
Proverbs 22:6, 15, 17
The Word of God in the hearts of your children is a guide to them in times of troubles and temptations, in their schools, and throughout their lives. Any heart that is void of the Word of God would have nothing to lean on in times of trouble and temptation and this will cause them to make reckless decisions outside of God. Therefore, you need to start now to train your children in the ways of God.
