Ministry is such an important part of what we do for God in his kingdom. Many have been called to do ministry, and this requires a lot of preparation in many areas of your life. As God's minister, great struggles lie ahead of you because you are the shepherd and leader of the people. You are a captain and a warrior in all spiritual battles. Therefore, if the devil can easily defeat you, the entire body of Christ will face a great challenge.
Most people who enter ministry do not take God’s Word seriously and do not pray for God’s presence in their ministries. How could any ministry survive without prayers? This is true for some ministers who enter into ministry unprepared.
“28For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? 29Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, 30Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. 31Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? 32Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace”
Luke 14:28-32
In the past, many ministers have fought and won great battles. Eloquently, they defended the faith, studied and taught others convincingly. But as soon as they neglected prayers and the Word of God, the devil messed them up. You must understand and acknowledge that God is the source of your ministry, and you cannot do much without Him. The devil and his agents are constantly on watch, waiting to bring you and your ministry down at the slightest chance.
You must not neglect the need to set aside some quality time to pray for your ministry. As a minister, do not toy with prayer, righteousness, and obedience to God’s Word lest the devil take advantage and destroy your work for God.
