The Power of Decree in Creation

The Almighty is a deity who brings things into existence through decree, and believers in Him have the same power to do so. Every living thing and all the celestial bodies including the heavens, angels, sun, moon, stars, and light came into being because of God’s decree. Even the waters above and below the earth were created by His decree.

”Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. He hath also established them forever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass”

(Psalms 148:2-3, 6).

Those who pass decrees are imitators of God. Even the wicked imitate God. The Lord God of heaven is the initiator of decrees. Satan uses the advantage of his knowledge over men to teach his agents how to pass decrees against God’s people. Decree is a tool meant for God and His children. As the crown of God’s creation, we have the right to command the elements and elemental powers to obey us. We have the authority, as invested by God, to talk to the moon, sun, stars, and He expects them to obey us. The enemies of God are using what rightly belongs to us to fight against us. Believers can decree like God. They can make a decree and it stands. Even ordinary kings of the world, by the virtue of their positions, can also make decrees and God honors them.

“By me king’s reign, and princes decree justice. When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth”

(Proverbs 8:15, 29).

When God passes a decree, it is perpetual, and so it ought to be with true believers. As a believer, when you stand on God’s Word and decree a thing, it shall surely stand. No matter the situation, when a true Christian comes out in faith and decrees a thing, it shall stand. The winds might be in the opposite direction at the point of decree. Even circumstances may appear to disagree with you at the point of the decree but they cannot prevail for too long. Enemies may roar, revolt and take their stands but they shall not prevail.

“Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?”

(Jeremiah 5:22).

Those who know their God very well would know that when God is involved in a decree, nobody can reverse it or prevail over it. Even occult people, who are wise, understand this very well.

“Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired; Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD’s anger come upon you”

(Zephaniah 2:1-2).

“For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness”

(Isaiah 10:22).

When God is involved in any declaration, opponents have no choice but to submit. In the past, Joshua was able to halt the sun and moon, and it can happen again. Believers have a direct command from God to make declarations and expect them to be fulfilled. A devout and brave child of God, who has true understanding, has no fear in any circumstances. This is because God has granted believers the authority to declare whatever we desire.

“Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways”

(Job 22:28).

When you decree a thing or revoke an evil decree against you, light will shine on your ways. And when the light comes, darkness disappears. When a true child of God engages himself in a spiritual exercise like fasting or even ordinary prayers of warfare, anything he or she decrees cannot be challenged by any power.

“To confirm these days of Purim in their times appointed, according as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had enjoined them, and as they had decreed for themselves and for their seed, the matters of the fasting and their cry. And the decree of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written in the book”

(Esther 9:31-32).
