“A diligent man receives his reward whether the devil likes it or not.” Rewards may be delayed but cannot be denied. No one can mock God. Whatever a man sows, he must reap. Joseph’s brethren hated him without any cause. Jesus’ kinsmen also hated him. Potiphar’s wife accused Joseph falsely. Potiphar ordered Joseph’s arrest and imprisoned him without a fair trial, but he remained faithful in prison.
Joseph did not complain, murmur in bitterness, defend himself, or fight back. Instead, he placed his trust in the LORD, knowing that only God could protect him. Joseph trusted God and remained faithful to him as the beloved son of his father, though he was a slave and a prisoner in a foreign land. He worked hard wherever he found himself, seeking nothing but the glory of God.

“And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither. And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field. And he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favored”
Genesis 39:1-6
The people he loved sold him, yet he loved them. A highly respected person also tempted him, but he refused to sacrifice his relationship with God. Ironically, some people can only overcome temptations if they come from people they do not like, know, or respect. Joseph was tempted, but because his focus was to glorify God, he was able to overcome them all. He never allowed adverse conditions around him or the people he depended on for provisions and respected very well to make him deny God.

Joseph believed that what God revealed to him in dreams would happen as long as he obeyed God and kept His commandments. He was a man who mastered how to live in times of plenty and lack. His reactions in difficult times are examples of true faithfulness to God.
Joseph exhibited a lot of qualities that are worthy of emulation. He did not waste any time in his life. Even as the beloved son of his father, he was not lazy, and he refused anyone’s attempts to pamper him. Right from childhood, he was a great dreamer and a gifted interpreter of dreams. Even after he was sold by his own blood, he never allowed self-pity, grudges, or regret to occupy his mind. Anywhere he found himself, he was always busy doing all things to the glory of God.
When he became a leader and second in command in the whole nation, Joseph was an example of a hard worker who had wisdom, foresight, good planning skills, and vision. Joseph saw himself as a servant of God and a defender of His people. and therefore, served God and humanity. He didn’t spend all his time in nightclubs, cinemas, football fields, or playing cards. He spent his entire life, money, and energy serving God and his generation. And most of all, Joseph’s love for Christ did not end in his heart; he expressed it and showed it practically. Every believer should do the same too.
