John’s Weeping Before the Throne

The Unstoppable Pursuit of Salvation

John wept before the one that was bruised for our iniquity, chastised of our peace, given hot stripes for our sickness, the one that everyone turned away from, who carried the iniquity of mankind. He wept before the one that was oppressed, afflicted for our sake, yet He opened not His mouth.

His old age, position as a church leader, insults, persecution from the head of the government, Emperor Domitian, the boiling oil and the unfriendly cold weather from the Isle of Patmos could not stop him from reaching to the throne. Don’t allow anything stop you from approaching Christ for your salvation and the liberation of your people, press forward.

When he got there, he wept for solution, for deliverance and for God’s last information for the unraptured multitudes of the earth. He wept because man’s sin on earth blocked them and denied them access to the throne, access to information that leads to deliverance. He wept because the day of God’s anger to trample upon the multitudes of sinners in the world was despised. Salvation has come and none is informed.

The Source of Deliverance and Revelation

He wept because God’s fury, vengeance was released but the devil kept them away and engaged people in eating and drinking in sin. As he was weeping before the throne of all thrones, something happened. Where are you weeping now, and where do you always weep when there is problem? When the nation’s economy, health sector and security department have problem, where do you normally go to weep? Whom do you normally consult when there is problem? Are you born again, an idol worshipper, occult member, and churchgoer without relationship with Christ?

John overcame all persecution, ignored all pains and wept before the throne. He wept before the greatest titleholder, before He that has the sharp sword with two edges, the great I am that I am, He that liveth and was dead and behold, all of a sudden, He became alive for evermore. The one that has the keys of hell and death, that holds the seven stars in His right hand, the first and the last, the holy one, the truth, the faithful and true witness. What was the result of his weeping, his cries and approach to He that sat on the throne?

The Worthy One Revealed

‘And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.  And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne’ (Revelation 5:5-7).

John wept because the terrible plagues containing God’s program for sinners on earth was in a scroll, book that was covered. God gave the revelation to show and reveal His plans, purpose and the coming event but now, the sealed book containing unfolded, unrevealed mysteries of last events, could not be opened. But something happened; the Lion of all lions, the Lion of the tribe of Judah emerged, appeared, manifested, and showed up. The root of David surfaced again.

‘And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof’ (Revelation 5:5).

‘As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith’ (Genesis 49:10).

‘I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star’ (Revelation 22:16).

‘And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked’ (Isaiah 11:1-4).

‘The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world’ (John 1:29).

‘And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!’ (John 1:36).

The lamb slain, yet standing, who is the worthy one, Jesus Christ. What qualified Him? For thou wast slain and hast redeemed us to God (see Revelation 5:9, Daniel 7:13-14).

He is the only one that was qualified because He has complete authority, seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent forth into all the earth. He came, took the book out of the right hand of Him that sat upon the throne. This brought a new song by the four and twenty elders and the four beasts. They fell down before the Lamb with harps, golden vials, full of odors, which are the prayers of the saints. In their songs, they told Jesus, thou art worthy to take the book, to open the seals and tell the world who fail to rapture what they will suffer.

Jesus was and still is the only one who is qualified to approach God, the Ancient of days and received dominion, glory and kingdom to rule and reign over all people, nations and languages of the world forever and ever. God the father is in support of His authority and have given Him power for the whole world to serve Him because His dominion is everlasting. His kingdom will never be stopped or destroyed; it is forever and ever.

‘John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me’ (John 1:15).

‘Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name’ (Philippians 2:9).

John the Baptist in His witness concerning Him said, He that cometh after me is preferred before me, for He was before me. Christ was born before every human being, everything because He is the first born of every creation. He is qualified to take the book from God’s hand, open the seals thereof because God has exalted Him, gave Him a name, which is far above every other name.

‘Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him’ (Hebrews 1:4-6).

’But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?’ (Hebrews 1:13-14).
