Who Is Your Idol?
A question we’re often asked; who you admire the most, what you desire all the time. You can’t just do without it, even when you want to pull away you find yourself indulging once more. Idols were made to distract you, to take something away from you, to shift your focus from its direction. And the moment you give in to these idols, you’ll unleash a great deal of chaos in your life and family.
What is Idolatry?
Idolatry which happens to be the very first commandment, is a delicate subject as God frowns upon it greatly. Idolatry consists of walking after other gods, speaking in the name of other gods, looking to other gods, serving other gods or worshipping the true God with an image.
If you make sacrifices to, or worship any idol, you are God’s enemy. If you join any cult, witchcraft group or turn to devil worship, you are God’s enemy. God warned that those who came out from Egypt, saved from sin through repentance (Ephesians 2:12-13, 19-20; Colossians 2:8), must not allow themselves to be ensnared and spoiled. You are ensnared through joining idol worshippers to make, worship or sacrifice to images. You are ensnared when you swear by other gods.
God even forbade the children of Israel from making any images in His likeness because no one knows what He looks like. The worst punishment that can befall anyone on earth is the destruction that comes through sacrificing to gods (Exodus 22:20). God hates idolatry because it is abominable, vain, bloody, unprofitable and foolishness before the Almighty.
Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am the Lord your God.

Many believers have defiled themselves by bowing down to images in their places of worship. Prayers against Idolatry
- Every evil habit the enemy is using to manipulate my life, die, in the name of Jesus. Spirit of the Living God, deliver me from every work of the flesh, in the name of Jesus. Every evil root of bad character in my life, dry up, in the name of Jesus. Every throne of witchcraft controlling my destiny, collapse, in the name of Jesus.
- Every arrow of confusion fired into my life, come out and backfire, in the name of Jesus. O Lord, give me enough power to overcome every manipulation, in the name of Jesus. Any witch or wizard manipulating my destiny, be disgraced, in the name of Jesus. I receive power to manipulate my manipulator, in the name of Jesus.
- Father Lord, arise and destroy idolatry in my foundation, in the name of Jesus. Ancient idolatry that refused to let me go, die and let me go, in the name of Jesus. Idolatry of my place of birth troubling my life, catch fire and die, in the name of Jesus. Every chain of idolatry put upon my neck, I break and destroy you by fire, in the name of Jesus.
- I cleanse my body, soul, and spirit from the problems of idolatry, in the name of Jesus. Idolatry shall not bury my destiny. Therefore, idolatry in my life, die, in the name of Jesus. Blood of Jesus, enter into my foundation and destroy every trace of idolatry in it, in the name of Jesus. Holy Ghost fire, enter into my foundation and burn to ashes every serpent of idolatry, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, arise and disgrace the promoters of idolatry in my life, in the name of Jesus. Every problem in my life caused by idolatry, die in the name of Jesus. Anointing to destroy idolatry spiritually and physically, possess me, in the name of Jesus. Any other god apart from the true God in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
