The Eternal Union of Christ and the Church

The Marriage of the Lamb

This marriage speaks of the eternal union between Christ and the believers, the raptured church.

‘Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints’ (Revelation 19:7-8).

It is an event that has particular reference to the raptured church and that will be God’s second program for the raptured church in heaven (John 3:29, Romans 7:4, 2 Corinthians 11:2, Ephesians 5:22-23, Revelation 19:7-8, 21:1-22).

Christ, the Bridegroom

The bridegroom is our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ Himself referred to Himself as the bridegroom in the gospel of Matthew chapter nine verse fourteen and fifteen (John 3:27-30, 2 Corinthians 11:2, Ephesians 5:25-27, 32).

Believers who by God’s grace were raptured are the bride. (Revelation 19:7-8, 2 Corinthians 11:2).

Israel would be restored. So, no restored wife would be called a virgin. The church is the chaste virgin presented to Christ (2 Corinthians 11:2).

The Blessed Guests

Who are the blessed guests? (Revelation 19:9-10, John 3:28-29, Luke 13:28-29).

All other saints, Old Testament saints, believers martyred during the great tribulation, end time redeemed Israel and Gentiles, apart from the church form the invited guest or those called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.
