Believers who received financial blessing and other blessings from God always seek for the welfare of God’s people. They are always preoccupied with Christ and heaven. They are not wasteful because they return whatever they have to God and render their accounts faithfully.
“Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof” (Romans 13:13-14).
God Himself demonstrates throughout the Scriptures that all true wealth actually comes from Him as He gives both the power to get wealth and the excellence of skill required to generate godly prosperity that blesses only and adds no sorrow (Deuteronomy 8:18, Romans 12:6-8, Proverbs 10:22). One of the best examples of this is seen in the building of God’s Temple. Not only was great wealth donated but many highly skilled craftsmen were anointed to use the wealth to create the temple and all its contents (Exodus 35:30-35). This clearly shows that not all who have wealth are less godly.
God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. – 2 Corinthians 9:9
It is God’s desire that we are blessed financially, but there are certain principles that you must adopt and abide by in order that the blessings of God with regards to your finances shall be yours.
Ways to position to receive God’s blessings
Develop Your Faith (Trust) in God
Trusting God to do what His word says He will do is extremely important to gaining godly prosperity and wealth. If you can’t trust God to live up to His word, then why do you believe in the first place?
JAMES 1:5-7
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and up-braideth not: and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, not wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think he shall receive any thing of the Lord.”
Ask of Him, and He will give to you liberally. You must ask in faith and not waver. Being unsure about God’s promises will not allow you to receive His liberal gift of biblical wealth to you.
Don’t shift your focus from God to money or things
When your focus is majorly on things you will receive from God then you are focusing in the wrong direction. For you to be properly positioned to receive from God then you must focus on God first. Focus on loving Him, on serving Him and on being a usable instrument in His hands then He commands blessings to be yours in return. Focus on Him first. 1 Timothy 6:17-19 (NKJV) Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. [18] Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, [19] storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
Invest in God’s kingdom
This should be first a mindset then an action that must be taken. You must have the attitude that your money as a child of God must be invested in Kingdom affairs and work. Then you must invest the little you have for more. You cannot the ones you have an expect more. You must always make a practice of giving what you have and the Lord will bless you more in return. Psalm 62:10 (NKJV) Do not trust in oppression, Nor vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, Do not set your heart on them.
Don’t let what God has blessed you with take God’s place in your life.
God sees the heart of every man and when He realizes that what He has blessed you with has taken His supposed place in your life then He may need to give you more. To be positioned for more of God blessings entails you maintain God’s place in your heart no matter whatever you possess. so many make the mistake of relacing God with God’s gifts hence has lost out of more of His blessings.
1 Kings 2:2-4 (NKJV) “I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man. [3] And keep the charge of the LORD your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn; [4] that the LORD may fulfill His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, ‘If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul,’ He said, ‘you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.’
God Can’t Do it Without You
The most important thing you have to understand is that God can’t do it without you. His nature is to bless you when you’re doing the right things. When you’re not positioned to be blessed by Him financially, His hands are tied and He can’t bless you like He wants to.
