The Power of Faith in Overcoming Life’s Battles

Faith Amidst Unseen Battles

There was an army captain who was going to war. That day he believed God for a victory. His faith was that that day was going to be the last battle. He believed it and said it out. With that faith and agreement with God, he went into the battlefield believing to win before the day ran out, but nature appeared and decided to suspend the battle to the next day. The day was going against him as the sun was fast disappearing. The moon was also from the other end of the world coming very fast into the earth to bring in the night. Of course, that was normal. But with faith, abnormal things take place.

This army captain was on the battlefield watching this scenario. The sun was moving out fast, and the night was coming in fast at the same time. All of a sudden, the man called the sun to attention and spoke to the moon for a discussion. But you know how stubborn nature is. The only person they obey is God. They refused to discuss with this army captain. Their reason being that from the day they were created, they had never honoured such invitation from man. The sun was in terrible haste to hand over to the moon and report to its Creator, which was his way from creation. The moon was almost coming into her office for the night shift when this army captain spoke out in authority to these two uncompromising elements of nature.

The battle of this army captain of the Lord multiplied. His human enemies were fighting him from one side and the sun and the moon were also fighting to keep their appointment with God, which they never missed since creation. At times in this journey of faith, the battle may increase. Nature and enemies from every side may oppose you, but with the words of faith, you can always prevail.

Speaking Faith to Conquer Challenges

This army captain of God had five kings from different nations fighting him with all their hosts. Because of the unwillingness of the sun and the moon to obey any order except that of God, they almost overcome this army captain. But this army captain turned to God in faith and spoke a word of faith. He said what he believed even though it was contrary to nature. But it was the word of faith, and God was helpless. Immediately this great soldier spoke to God and got his approval, he turned to the two elements, the sun and the moon and they obeyed. Why? Because it is a word of faith, and man is a superior being – the crown of creation.

“Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So, the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.”

(Joshua 10:12-14).

By faith, you can make history. So, what are you waiting for? Why don’t you say something by faith now?
