How to become and remain a godly Senior Citizen.
To be a godly senior citizen, stay away from lying at all costs. You can do it. Be renewed in the spirit of your mind and live a life of truth as it is without subversion.
Is the subverted truth still true? Subverted truth is no longer true.
What does it mean to lie? Lying involves making untrue statements with the intent to deceive and create a false or misleading impression to get your way out of trouble. In blunt terms, lying is imputing dishonesty, quibbling, or confusing an issue. It is to fabricate, equivocate, to say one thing but intend another. To lie is to mislead, palter, and make inconsistent statements of fact, intention, or insincere promise. To lie is to defraud, tell trivial tales, or make inaccurate statements. When a person or persons you trust and live in peace with peddle lies, it produces distrust, curses, famine, war, and deaths (see Joshua 9:15, 22-23, 27; 2 Samuel 21:1-9).
What are the Consequences of Lying?
Lies can situate someone in perpetual slavery, bondage and hardship, suffering and everlasting pain. Lies bring limitations, evil terminations, and tears in the eyes of both born and unborn children. Above all, lies are capable of reducing you to nothing. A lie that has not been renounced, restituted for, and forsaken can destroy the righteous foundations. That is why the Psalmist asked, ‘If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?’ (Psalms 11:3).
Lies can make a person, family, or nation bloody and bring such people under forcible control of economic bondage. In all that you do, do not embrace a life of lies because lies dispossess liars of their due inheritances, transfer their blessings, take away their peace, and deliver premature deaths to their doorsteps. Lies can deliver unrepentant liars into the hands of their worst enemies.
Let me tell you a short story…
When I returned to Nigeria after being away from the country for some time, I met an elder named Gideon in a neighboring town to my community. He was such a good man, and it was hard to make him sad, angry, or disturbed. Beyond being a good man, he was also a Godman and believed solely in being at peace with oneself and the rest of the world. The irony of this was the wife he had. She was the exact opposite of him; she made trouble everywhere she ever went and lied about everything and anything, yet he loved her and continued to counsel her with the word of God in truth and love. One day, she told her husband she wanted to go to her sister’s place in Lagos state, Nigeria, for a 1-week holiday. Peaceful Elder Gideon consented. It was said that she went to Lagos and never came back again. When he started to make findings about his wife, he discovered she never went to her sister’s place. She only asked her sister to cover for her. She went to a man’s place somewhere in Lagos (no one ever found the man) and was killed by the man. When her sister went to check on her after one week of being disturbed by Elder Gideon, she met her dead body with some of her body parts removed.
Hmmm!
If only Elder Gideon’s wife didn’t dare to be deceitful. Lies beget the worst misunderstandings, fights, disagreements, wars, and deaths. Leaders, especially senior citizens, fail to deliver valuable services to their communities because of lies. If not for lies, Satan would not have convinced Eve and destroyed the supernatural relationship humanity enjoyed with God at the time.
‘He said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat‘. GENESIS 3:1-6
Eve considered the forbidden fruit after listening to the lies of Satan. This led her to doubt God, and she desired what God prohibited. As a result, she became a sinner and a tempter.
How can our leaders and senior citizens correct things?
If our leaders, senior citizens, elders, and unfaithful ministers would repent and resolve to tell the truth from henceforth, things would normalize with time.
When was the first lie?
The first lie started in heaven when Lucifer gathered one-third of the angels and told them lies, convincing them of the possibility to rise and be like the Most-High God.
What is the current condition of the angels deceived by Lucifer?
They were deceived into believing his lies, and now, those angels (who are now demons) are in perpetual suffering, as recorded in the Scriptures;
“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most-high“. ISAIAH 14:12-14
‘And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day… Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities‘. JUDE 6, 8
Why do we need the help of senior citizens?
We need the help of every senior citizen, whether retired or still in active service, to correct errors in our societies. Their collaboration is essential because some are still in profound covenant with the father of all lies.
