Christ’s Message to Thyatira
Christ, the true prophet of God with His eyes open to see even in the dark sent letters to the seven churches in Asia. In those letters, He commended, warns, rebukes, encourages and extends His promises to all who have ears to hear in every church. Right now, we are studying His (letter) message to the church in Thyatira. In this church, Christ opened His eyes and saw a false prophetess who was permitted to teach and wrongly influence the members.
‘And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass’ (Revelation 2:18).
The Deception of the False Prophetess
For a very long time, this false prophetess with the spirit of Jezebel has deceived many in the church without being noticed. She occupied a very prominent position, a seat in the church, with recognition by the church leadership. Her teachings influence many members to adopt her sinful lifestyle. All other teachers and leaders in Thyatira came under her influence. They were all possessed by the spirit of Jezebel.
‘And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people’ (Acts 3:20-23).
Christ’s Rebuke and Call to Repentance
Christ with His eyes like a flame of fire saw this false prophetess in her full deceit and destructive ministry. With a letter, He walked into the church with His feet, like a brass. As the true, steadfast and faithful prophet from God, He confronted this fake and false prophetess like no one had done before. If you are in a church where you rule and reign without challenge wrongly, Christ is here with a warning letter.
If your sinful lifestyle has influenced others in the church or the community and yet, none has preached to you, open your ears. If you promote sin, evil lifestyle anywhere and yet, none has rebuked you, warned you, Christ, the true and faithful Prophet cannot be afraid of you. If you have a place, position, authority in any ministry, church and influence others to sin, you have a warning letter from Christ. If you are a leader, an overseer and you live a life of sin, influence others without rebukes, a warning letter, Christ the steadfast, faithful Prophet is writing you today. All leaders, people with a seat, position of any kind in all the churches on earth are being warned with a letter from Christ today.
If you are a leader who influence people under you wrongly, be warned. You may not have access to offering money but your way of life, teachings influence people under you to tamper with God’s money, be warned. If your teachings, prophecy or style of leadership promotes sexual immorality, separation, divorce or any kind of sin, this may be your last or only warning letter. The truth is that this rebuke or warning letter is coming from the faithful Prophet of God. If you have despised other rebukes and warnings and got away with them, this one is coming from heaven, the faithful Prophet of God. This preaching is coming from Christ, this one which all prophets spoke about since the world began. The Prophet that Moses saw and told the fathers of Israel that God will raise as a Prophet. The Prophet that Moses commanded us to hear in all things.
No matter your position in any church, you must hear Him. You may be the founder of your church, you must hear Him. You may be the general overseer, you must hear Him. You may be an arch bishop, an apostle, the leader of other leaders, you must hear Him. You may run your church, your branch as a personal property, business, you must hear Him now. You may have lived this way all your life, influencing people wrongly, this time, you must hear Him. You may have mismanaged the ministry, people under you, lived like Jezebel, you must hear Christ now. Whether you read this letter or not, every disobedient person will be judged. For those who are privileged to read this letter, obedience is demanded you may have despised other letters and go free, you may have despise other letters and go free, you must not despise this one. The author is Christ the one that Moses told even the fathers of Israel to obey. No matter how old you are, your place in the church, you are not older than the fathers of Israel
Christ is the true and faithful Prophet
This is a Prophet recognized by God, from heaven, approved by the Almighty, spoken about by Moses, respected by the fathers of Israel. He is the true and faithful Prophet, raised by God.
‘For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes’ (Jeremiah 16:17).
‘Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD’ (Jeremiah 23:24).
You may have all the nine gift of the Holy Spirit, healing, miracle, prophecy etc., you must hear this Prophet. You may be intelligent, highly respected and reverenced, you must hear this Prophet. You may have dominated everyone in the church because of your gift, you cannot dominate this Prophet. If you do not hear this Prophet, obey this Prophet, you will be destroyed from among the people. Whatever you have achieved in the church, no matter your contributions, you must hear this Prophet. Moses called the fathers of Israel to hear Him in all things, whatsoever He shall say. Christ is that Prophet, the faithful and steadfast Prophet from God, raised by God and commissioned to write to me and you and we must hear. Every way you followed in the past, present and will follow in the future, His eyes are seeing you clearer.
None of your activities, prophecies, secrets is hidden from His eyes, He sees all. There is no iniquity that can be hidden from His eyes. All your past are exposed before Him. Every activity going on earth, in heaven, in the church, everywhere is exposed before His eyes. Ministers, prophets, pastors and members activities are exposed to His eyes. You, I have no option than to come before Him in repentance and ask for forgiveness.
‘He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him’ (Daniel 2:22).
‘And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil’ (Zephaniah 1:12).
