Diligent Christians understand the principle and benefits of preparation. Every good cause demands adequate preparation and planning. Trusting God for financial miracles and prosperity are not left out. They also require some preparation. The best way to start is to return to your original estate, which is in Christ Jesus. That is the surest way to attain a godly financial breakthrough.
“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, and then shall ye also appear with him in glory” (Colossians 3:1-4).
God made man from the dust of the earth and breathed life into him, which was the Spirit of God. Sadly, man fell from grace when he disobeyed God and since that time, man’s natural tendency is to seek after earthly things without God who created him. That is why things keep getting worse.
“The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts” (Psalms 10:4).
“For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s” (Philippians 2:21).
“And he hath brought thee near to him and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee: and seek ye the priesthood also?” (Numbers 16:10).
“And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out” (Genesis 39:15).
Christ is the one who has the power to regenerate man and renew his affection and ambition that would be acceptable in the sight of God. Otherwise, man would remain under devil’s structure, seeking fame, financial prosperity, fashion and pleasure without God.
WAYS TO PREPARE FOR GOD’S BLESSINGS
DILIGENCE
One of the first things I discovered that you must do to get God’s blessings upon you is to practice DILIGENCE.
Now, when the Bible refers to diligence in these scriptures, it’s referring to consistency. The definition of diligence I found on Google reads “careful and persistent effort”
DEUTERONOMY 28:1-2
“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God.”
Listen to what God has to say- in His word as well as in direct communication with Him (prayer). Be diligent to observe His commandments and He will set you above others that don’t. Do these things and His blessings will overtake you because you are diligently obedient.
SEEK GOD IN EVERYTHING
Seeking God in everything goes along with diligence, in that seeking God should be a constant in your life if you want God to consistently bless you and your situation.
2 CHRONICLES 31:20-21
“Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah, and he did what was good and right and faithful before the Lord his God. And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, in the law and in the commandment, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart. So he prospered.”
Hezekiah sought God, did what was good, and served Him with all his heart. When you are a seeker of God in every situation and you’re faithful, God will prosper you in the same way.
Standing as a sinner, being scornful, and taking the advice of ungodly people are all things that keep you from accessing God’s blessing. But when you set your heart and mind on godly things you are constantly nourished, always fruitful, and whatever you do prospers because you have that Godly blessing upon you.
Keep His Commands
Keeping God’s commandments (walking in His ways) is a very important part of leading a good Christian life, but does it result in wealth and abundance?
PSALM 23:1
The Lord is my shepherd I shall not want.
So when you allow yourself to be led by the Lord, you will never lack for anything.
David’s Instructions to Solomon as He Was Dying
“And keep the charge of the LORD your God, walking in His ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, His rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and wherever you turn…” When you do Godly things and follow Godly ways you will prosper in everything and whichever way you turn.
PRAYER POINTS FOR FINANCIAL BLESSINGS
- I destroy any evil power that wants to influence me, in the name of Jesus.
- I disgrace every enemy of my financial breakthrough, in the name of Jesus.
- Let God guide my affections, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, help me to spend my money with eternity in view, in the name of Jesus.
- Let worldly desires that were assigned to waste my money be frustrated, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, help me to know Your plan for my finances, in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, help me to use my finances to run my Christian race and obtain an incorruptible crown, in the name of Jesus.
- Father Lord, give me dumbfounding financial miracles this year, in the name of Jesus.
- Every demon of embarrassment and lack in my life, I cast you out, in the name of Jesus.
- Let the yoke of financial bondage in my life beak, in the name of Jesus.
