The Blessedness of being a Believer

Believers need not act like strangers because their relationship with God through Christ brings them into the covenant of promise. Under this covenant, believers cannot live hopeless lives because they have access to divine mercy. We are surviving in this world with God, and through the shed blood of Christ.

Salvation through Christ delivers believers from collective family captivity and ancestral bondage. It breaks the demarcating wall, the middle wall of partition, and gives them direct access to every good thing. They have the right to divine mercy if they can only ask in faith.

Salvation bring you into a Covenant of Peace

Once you are born again, you come into the covenant of peace through the blood of Jesus. You are then qualified for God’s mercy but you must ask for it.

Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone“. Ephesians 2:11-20

Members of the commonwealth of God

Unbelievers can ask for divine mercy, but every believer is qualified to obtain mercy and all the wealth of the kingdom; it is our birthright. Once you are in Christ, you are no longer an alien to divine wealth, heavenly provisions, and inheritance. All believers in Christ are members of the commonwealth of God.

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world” Ephesians 2:12

The Benefits of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.

Christ’s sacrifice on the cross brought about immense benefits for believers, one of which is that the enmity between them and God was abolished by the death of Christ on the cross of Calvary. Believers are reconciled with God, never to remain under affliction, reproach, or shame. As a believer, you are no longer a stranger but a fellow citizen with the saints in the family of God. You are cut off from every unprofitable or idolatrous foundation and any curse. Jesus, our High Priest passed through whatever you are going through and paid the price for your deliverance.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need“. Hebrews 4:15-16
