God has established a purpose for blessing His people. The main purpose God blesses His children is to establish His covenant. As it is written, “…For it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day” (Deuteronomy 8:18).
Whatever God does, have a purpose attached to it. Sadly, many people that are praying for financial breakthrough, help, miracles and blessings have no idea of the purpose of God’s blessings. That is why some people are not receiving answers to their prayers.
I have come across believers that were praying for financial miracles without having plans of what to do when finances come. Human beings would also ensure that their financial help is worthwhile and well accounted for. You may be a good Christian but if you do not have a good plan on how to invest your money, God may not answer your prayers no matter how much fasting and prayers you observe.
Reasons why God blesses us financially
To Reveal His love towards us
You can give without loving but you can’t love and not give. God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life – John 3:16. And in Romans 8: 32, God tells us that if He didn’t spare His Son Jesus but gave Him for us all, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things, including wealth and riches.
To reinforce His promises
Deuteronomy 8:18 states that God provides you the ability to create riches in order to fulfill the covenant He made with your ancestors (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob). In Genesis 12:2-3, God promised Abraham that He would create him a large nation and that through him, all of the earth’s families would be blessed. God gave him Isaac to establish the large nation and fulfill the agreement, and He endowed him with vast riches to pass the covenant down from generation to generation.
For His Kingdom’s Work
According to Haggai 1:4-10, the people did not thrive because they left God’s house in ruins and the work of God undone; as a result, the skies above them withheld their dew and the soil did not produce fruit for them. That implies that when God blesses you, He wants you to utilize some of it for His kingdom purpose. You are to use it to promote the gospel and make Jesus’ name a household name, as well as to win people for God’s kingdom.
PREPARE TO RECEIVE
God is the owner of the universe. He has planned how the universe would be. Because the devil’s chief work is to oppose God, he steals wealth and gives to his agents to use them contrary to God’s wish. Nevertheless, if you want to get blessings from God, you must be prepared to use God’s blessing to His glory alone. That is why you cannot conform to the standards of the world.
You must be willing at all times to offer whatever you received from God back to Him the way He wants, not how you want. That was the problem that God had with Cain. He sacrificed to God on his own terms and God rejected his sacrifice. Whatever you receive from God belongs to God. Therefore, you must be willing at all times to listen to Him and discover how to offer those things back to His glory.
