Raising Godly Seeds As A Benefit Of God’s Mercy

Introduction to Godly Childbearing and Family Life

Aside from establishing a godly home and extending heaven to earth, marriage offers another benefit through God’s mercy: the creation and establishment of godly seeds.

Godly Seeds Are Raised In Godly Homes

When husband and wife meet up with divine responsibility to each other after discovering God’s will, they are qualified to bear godly children.

And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him”. Genesis 18:17-19

The Dividends Of A Peaceful Marriage.

Abraham and Sarah’s Testimony

After many years of marriage, Abraham and Sarah lived together peacefully in love, care, and submission to each other, and God proved them faithful. He testified that when Abraham begins to bear children, he will command his children and household to keep the way of the LORD, even after his death. Though there were many families at that time, only Abraham had this testimony, which qualified him to bear a godly child.

Why Children Turn Out To Be Ungodly

There are many people today with ungodly children because their parents didn’t lead them through the way of the LORD. The door of procreation was opened to them, but they abused it by not commanding their children rightly. God’s command to children to obey their parents must be adhered to by every parent. Parents must teach their children to obey this command.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth“. Ephesians 6:1-3

The Command to Children

Obedience and Honor to Parents

Children are commanded to obey their parents in the Lord and to honor their father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise. When children are brought up to disobey their biological parents, they lay the wrong foundation for their spiritual life and growth. When they disobey their fathers and mothers, they lose out on the promise that follows that command. This is the reason why many children suffer failure and die young on earth. This death may be spiritual or physical. Many parents today have many children who are dead spiritually.

To open the door for godly childbearing, you must live in peace with your partner and do everything to please God.

Parental Guidance and Godly Living

The Role of Parents in Teaching and Guiding

My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of lifeProverbs 6:20-23

Children are called to be subject to their father’s commandments and not forsake their mother’s law. Parents must also guide and direct their children to keep God’s commandments from their tender age. Children who obey God’s commandment will not stumble because God’s commandment is a lamp, and the law is a light that reproves them and instructs them to follow the way of life.

Respect for Parents and Elders

Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old”. Proverbs 23:22

But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God”. 1 Timothy 5:4

Responsibilities of Widows and Parents

Guidance and Discipline of Children

Children should hear and listen to their father’s godly instruction and must not despise the counsel of elders. Widows with children have a lot of work to do and must not destroy them through bad examples. Every child under their parent’s or anyone else’s care must heed good counsel. Parents also must not allow their children to have their way in everything, especially the wrong things. As the child is not competent to reason on what is right, he is unqualified to direct himself and must be taught and directed by their parents.

Children must also be taught from their homes to obey the laws of the land early in life. Obedient children will live long here on earth according to God’s promise. Their parents will also have peace and joy when they bring up their children in a godly way. Children who hate and disobey Christian principles will trouble their parents, and their community hence becoming terrorists in the nation.
