Salvation and Peace
When a sinner hears the word of God, believes it, and confesses his sins, God saves him and gives him peace of mind and eternal life. Those who pray for the salvation of their souls are given the power to become sons of God. (John 1:12; John 3:16).
Salvation includes deliverance and preservation from sin, evil, and the consequences of the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. When a saved person prays in faith, God delivers him from physical pains, enemies, slavery, infirmities, and suffering, and gives him the power to remain a child of God (Romans 10:6-13). Through prayer, we can receive full salvation and peace of mind.
Revelation of the Hidden Secrets
One of the children of Israel called Achan committed a trespass in the accursed thing. He took of the accursed thing and because of that the anger of the Lord was kindled against the whole nation of Israel. He cleverly took it away without anyone noticing what he did. Achan in the battlefield saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonian garment, two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight. Immediately he saw them, he became covetous for them. He took them away and hid them in the earth in the midst of his tent, but he put the silver under it. No one knew about his action. Because of that trespass a small nation called AI defeated the children of Israel and killed about 36 men and chased them away unto Shebarim. At that point Joshua and the elders of Israel went into prayers to discover the secret behind their defeat (Joshua 7:6-12).
Through prayers, the truth was revealed and when the accursed thing was removed and justice done, victory returned to the camp of Israel (Joshua 8:1-2).
Victory and Sanctification
Through prayers, believers’ eyes can be opened, sinners’ eyes can be opened, blind physical eyes can be opened, and light can shine in darkness. People can be turned from the power of Satan to the power of God so that they can receive forgiveness of sins and inheritance among those that are sanctified by faith in Christ.
“To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”
(Acts 26:18).
Through prayers, those who are captured by the powers of darkness can receive victory and live in the light for Christ. Prayers can give us victory to overcome the enemy because greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world of darkness. We can get victory over those who are in the world by praying against the powers of darkness (1 John 4:4, 5:3-5)
Anyone who is born again has been given power to overcome any other contrary power in the world no matter how powerful. Our faith as believers added with prayer can give us all manner of victory.
