The Power of God’s Decrees and Consequences of Ignoring it

The Power of God’s Decrees

When God wants to stop any determined and united evil force, He passes a decree against their speech.

In the decree of God against evil men, no one can change the decree of God against evil men. There were once people in cities called Sodom and Gomorrah, who were gays and lesbians. They committed homosexuality without restriction, even by the government of their day. They were beyond the control of men, not even the righteous could persuade them to stop. They were evil and determined homosexuals, who could go into any house and defile even the righteous. The cry of the people they forced into homosexuality was so great. Their sins were so terrible that God had to come down because of the cries of the people they defiled.

“And the LORD said, because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous

(Genesis 18:20).

Their sins rose up to God to the extent that they were ready to commit sexual immorality at all cost. Even when they saw angels of God, they still wanted to have sexual relationship with them.

“And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, nay; but we will abide in the street all night. And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat”

(Genesis 19:1-3).

The Sins of Sodom and Gomorrah

In those days, Lot was a child of God but he did not use any word of decree against the evil men of his generation. These evil men of Sodom were committing sins without fear, even wanting to enter into the house of the righteous Lot.

“But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, and said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. And they said, Stand back. And they said again, this one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door

(Genesis 19:4-9).

The angels waited for Lot to decree but he chose to offer homosexuals his daughters. The days of Lot have returned like Jesus Christ rightly told us. Believers should rise up and decree against the wickedness of these days or else many shall be wasted.

There are many evil groups that are rising up, all over the world, with supports of governments of the nations. Many laws have been passed contrary to God’s law and His people. The bible is being confronted by many constitutions all over the world. It is time true believers rise up and decree against all these evils taking place in the world today.

“Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all”

(Luke 17:28-29).

The Consequences of Ignoring God’s Decrees

Some determined and unrepentant sinners need to be decreed against so that God’s fear will spread all over the earth and people who are under captivities will be delivered.

“But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door”

(Genesis 19:10-11).

Our God is a God of decree and all His decrees surely stand firm. Abraham was a great man of God but he was afraid of a man called King Abimelech. Abimelech took the wife of Abraham from him and at God’s decree, the wombs of the house of Abimelech were closed up.

“And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, she is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, behold; thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man’s wife

(Genesis 20:2-3).

“So, Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children. For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham’s wife

(Genesis 20:17-18).

The decree of God can affect anyone no matter his or her ranks. The decree of men can fail but God’s decree can never fail. By God’s decree, all flesh that was filthy and evil died.

“And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark. And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days”

(Genesis 7:21-24).

By God’s decree there was a rain of fire like brimstones from heaven and all the people living in Sodom and Gomorrah died. By God’s decree, the wife of Lot was converted to a useless pillar of salt. By God’s decree, Er, the first son of Judah died in his wickedness.
