The negative effect of being in the wrong company (group)
Others are in the habit of keeping a company or spending their time with bad people, and one day will end up joining them to do evil.
‘And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab. And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods. And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel‘. Numbers 25:1-3
No matter how strong you think you are, as long as you continue to spend time with sinners, you must join them to do evil. So as believers, you must not keep evil companion (II Corinthians 6:14-18)
EVIL CONSULTATION
The danger of depending on agents for information
Many believers and deliverance groups specialize in using people to gather information. As a result, the devil surrounds them with agents who feed them with all manner of wrong information. He subtly removes all the good people around them, leaving the deliverance group with a bunch of wicked people. Instead of enquiring from God who had called them, they depend on agents of darkness to seek information.
‘And when he came to him, behold, he stood by his burnt offering, and the princes of Moab with him. And Balak said unto him, what hath the Lord spoken?‘ Numbers 23:17
What is evil consultation?
Evil consultation is a bad way of seeking information, facts, or solutions. (Ezekiel 7:20-27, 8:1-27; I Samuel 28:7-13).
It is better to continue to hear from God than to allow the devil and his agents to corrupt your mind. When you begin to employ the wrong people to move like worldly journalists, with tapes and recording machines to get information for you, they will feed you with the wrong information. Believers should enquire from God and not from evil men.
‘And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the Lord said unto him, Go up. And David said, whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron‘. 2 Samuel 2:1
In times of deliverance or ministrations, we should consult God for facts, information, or solutions.
Joshua consulted God
When Joshua wanted to deliver the whole nation from Ai, he consulted God in prayer.
‘And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the Lord until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads. And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord God, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content, and dwelt on the other side Jordan! O Lord, what shall I say, when Israel turneth their backs before their enemies! For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and shall environ us round, and cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt thou do unto thy great name? And the Lord said unto Joshua, Get thee up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face? Israel hath sinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff. Therefore, the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you. Up, sanctify the people, and say, sanctify yourselves against tomorrow: for thus saith the Lord God of Israel, there is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you‘. Joshua 7:6-13
Why you need to overcome evil consultation and consult God
Evil consultation must be overcome before true and lasting deliverance can be achieved. Many of our deliverance groups and ministers depend on what others say or hear to judge. We need to learn how to go to God directly to obtain the right information. Without that, deliverance will be impossible because we can never pray the right prayer or judge rightly because of wrong information. Many genuine deliverance ministers have been transferred, removed, or killed because of evil consultation. If our generation must be delivered, we must learn how to go to God for the right prayers, actions, or facts.
‘Thus, saith the Lord, stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, we will not walk therein. Also, I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, we will not hearken‘. Jeremiah 6:16-17
Believers and deliverance ministers should take time to consult God to obtain the right direction needed in deliverance. You can shout, and call fire and rain without result, but if you have the right information, you will channel your prayers aright. If you are busy casting out witchcraft spirits when the demon in charge is sin, you are wasting your time. We need to consult God, not our mind or false spirit in times of deliverance.
‘And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made. And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked. And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them. And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded‘. 1 Kings 18:26-29
If we sincerely consult God, He will answer us. When we conquer what we need to overcome, our deliverance will be made easy. Some deliverance candidates consult and depend on deliverance ministers when they need to consult God. We need the voice of God, not the voice that comes from our intellect or medical report. The devil makes a mockery of many prayers people pray in ignorance. If we have the right information, all the enchantment and the activities of witches and wizards can be destroyed in a single deliverance session using the right prayer points. If we conquer what we are supposed to overcome, all our foundational bondages will collapse even with a single prayer point at the mention of the name of Jesus.
‘He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the Lord his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them. God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn. Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, what hath God wrought!’ Numbers 23:21-23
The problem is that many deliverance candidates are not ready to do the right thing. The powers of witchcraft, household wickedness, unfriendly friends, and all the hosts of hell will fall when we become true overcomers. If you are not an overcomer, you’ll be doing deliverance all the time, acquiring more demons to yourself. It is better to learn how to overcome than to learn how to pray and cast out demons. It is better to understand what to overcome than to overcome wrong enemies. It is better to take time to consult God than to rush into prayers of deliverance and provoke demons to invade your life repeatedly.
‘When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation‘. Matthew 12:43-45
‘For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, the dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire‘. 2 Peter 2:20-22
The devil can allow you to pray endlessly and attend deliverance services every day as long as you remain under his bondage. There are things to overcome and accursed things to take away before true deliverance can come. God’s true fire can only come when you are an overcomer. You can call fire over a hundred times but if you are not an overcomer, you can never experience God’s true fire for your deliverance. It does not take God time to send His fire if you are an overcomer.
‘And Moses was very wroth, and said unto the Lord, Respect not thou their offering: I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them… And there came out a fire from the Lord, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense‘. Numbers 16:15, 35
God releases His fire when He hears the voice of true overcomers. God’s fire does not spare any enemy on the battlefield. Evil liquids, demonic fires, evil plantations, and all manner of unclean spirits cannot stand God’s fire. True overcomers cast out evil spirits with God’s word, not with charms. When true overcomers tell the demons to go, they will go. Whatever a true overcomer declares comes to pass because God honors their words. When they touch blind eyes, they open. When they say, peace be still, the storms will cease. When they rebuke the demons, they obey. When they say, woman; thou art loosed, the infirmity will go. When they say fill the water pots with water, it will be turned into wine. When they say, rise up and walk, the lame will walk. When they speak to death, death will hear.
‘And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, loose him, and let him go‘. John 11:43-44
God is looking for true overcomers who will consult Him before taking action; those who will consult Him without having an alternative; those who will wait for God long enough without making haste to seek fake powers.
‘And when Saul enquired of the Lord, the Lord answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets. Then said Saul unto his servants, seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor‘.1 Samuel 28:6-7
This is why many believers and deliverance ministers consult familiar spirits; they are not patient enough to consult God to the end. But overcomers are ready to wait for God unto the end. They are not ready to accept fake deliverance.
‘Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth‘. Hebrews 11:35-38
True overcomers stay faithful to God and refuse to be lured into evil consultation. Irrespective of the pressure or the situation they find themselves, they can never indulge in evil consultations. They are always determined to follow God till the end.
