Divine Judgment and Protection
At God’s decree, nations can be wiped out, seas can rage, mountains can melt and stones can come down from heaven to fight. At God’s decrees, conspirators can be raised against God’s enemies. At God’s decrees, mass death can take place in the presence of the most qualified physicians. Children can be killed helplessly before their own parents.
“So, they took the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah; and they gave judgment upon him. And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon”
(2 Kings 25:6-7).
At God’s decree, great men and women can die childless. At God’s decree, experienced soldiers, who had fought and won many battles, can be defeated and killed in minor battles.
“And Abijah and his people slew them with a great slaughter: so there fell down slain of Israel five hundred thousand chosen men. Thus, the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the LORD God of their fathers. And Abijah pursued after Jeroboam, and took cities from him, Bethel with the towns thereof, and Jeshanah with the towns thereof and Ephraim with the towns thereof. Neither did Jeroboam recover strength again in the days of Abijah: and the LORD struck him, and he died”
(2 Chronicles 13:17-20).
Divine Intervention and Miraculous Deliverance
At God’s decree, when men of war can no more fight, God can mobilize soldiers from heaven to defend His decree.
“And the LORD sent an angel, which cut off all the mighty men of valor, and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So, he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he was come into the house of his god, they that came forth of his own bowels slew him there with the sword. Thus, the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all other, and guided them on every side. And many brought gifts unto the LORD to Jerusalem, and presents to Hezekiah king of Judah: so that he was magnified in the sight of all nations from thenceforth”
(2 Chronicles 32:21-23).
“Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses”
(Isaiah 37:36).
At God’s decree, flames on enemies’ fire can lose power over God’s children and burn to ashes all enemies of God.
“Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego: therefore, he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was won’t to be heated. And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Therefore, because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego”
(Daniel 3:19-22).
Divine Favor and Prosperity
At God’s decree, lions can be rendered impotent before a true child of God. But the same lion can waste lives of God’s enemies at His decree.
“And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den”
(Daniel 6:24).
Nothing can be impossible before the decree of the Almighty God. The decree of God can set captives free. The decree of God can bring curses upon unrepentant sinners. It can also bring a curse upon the land.
“And the LORD said unto Cain, where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper? And he said, what hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground. And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand; When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth. And Cain said unto the LORD, my punishment is greater than I can bear. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me”
(Genesis 4:9-14).
God’s decree can bring water of destruction upon the earth. It can bring confusion and scatter nations or groups that are united. It can separate evil group and place judgment upon them for life. It can bring plagues and great famine into a prosperous life, family or nation. God’s decree can activate angels to enter the world to bless or curse people, to defend or oppose people.
The decree of God can promote or demote, destroy or save lives, kill or give abundant life. The decree of God can bring negative or positive messages on earth. It can come down to accept the offering of Abel and reject Cain’s offering.
By God’s decree, a ram can appear before Abraham to save the life of Isaac and make Abraham a mighty prince and a man of favor. By God’s decree, a runaway and lovely boy called Jacob can be comforted with a promise of blessings and protection from his enemies. By God’s decree, closed wombs can be opened to bear many children. At the point of God’s decree, prosperity can emerge out of nothing.
At God’s decree a forgotten person can be remembered, rewarded and promoted by force. At God’s decree, your dreams can come true and all enemies can bow. At God’s decree, a condemned person can be set free and commissioned to deliver others from bondage. At God’s decree, divine favor can manifest to set captives free.
